Two different 3D symmetric interpretations produced from the same 2D curve in Figure 3.
(a) The slant and the tilt of the symmetry plane of the 3D interpretation were set to 45 deg and 60 deg, respectively. Each of the two symmetric halves of the 3D curve is planar.
(b) The slant and the tilt of the symmetry plane were set to 45 deg and 45 deg, respectively. Neither of the two symmetric halves of the 3D curve is planar. The original image does not look like a 2D projection of this 3D symmetric interpretation.
